It has been a crazy time since the June 12th hail storm that hit about 12:41 pm. Did you know that Roofing sales people were already on the way here from Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, and even Florida? Before the storm even hit. The local building departments were flooded with request for roofing licenses, and the local hotels were bursting at the seems with various roofing companies, sales people, and installers. It was estimated that within 24 hours more than 400 roofing sales people invaded Canon City Colorado.  And yes, they are all local roofing companies, suddenly...

If you want to see if your roofer is really local as him were duck park is, or ask him if he knows the history of the Royal Gorge Bridge, or ask him if he knows the longstanding mascot of the Canon City High School, my old stomping grounds.

I have heard many stories about roofing sales people hitting the doors of local townsfolk for years.  They are typically young, eager, well dressed and for the most part quite a handsome group.  They follow the Storm Damage Roofing companies called Stormers and they are amazing to speak with and sign a contract with. Yes they have the perfect smile. But I don't believe you will see any long-term relationship with them.  In fact, after you sign you may never see them again.  They are here to get a contract signed and then leave. 

Most local roofing companies (I believe there are 3 or 4 in Canon city) don't employ 40 or 50 roofing sales people for the short term of a hail storm. To the untrained eye these local companies look slow, pathetic, and somewhat unresponsive. Why? because they are not here for the storm, they are here to live and support their families. Rarely do they hire more than a couple folks to help.  they make they make the local companies appear to be slow while the new local companies with all those shiny salespeople look fast.  Its really the story of the race between the turtle and the hair.

Send them to local schools, and rarely do they hire more than a couple folks to help.  The stormers saturate an area like flys to honey.  Their goal is to make the local companies appear slow while the "new local companies" with all those shiny salespeople look fast.  Its really the story of the race between the turtle and the hair.  These companies make millions of dollars in a short time after selling 1000's of roofs.  Its not uncommom that homeowners feel like roadkill before their contracts are finished. 

Before becoming a serious roofing company, we worked  for a number of large roofing contractors.  

These companies did 1000+ roofs per year, their income many time exceeded 10 or 20 million dollars.  

They hired as many sales people as possible to run and get contracts, many times these newbies new absolutely nothing about roofing. 

These companies hire between 10 and 20 installation crews to install massive amounts of roofing in a very short time.  Many times the local installers work for stormers instead of the roofing companies that support them year round.  

In the office before we were roofers, we helped manage the crews, materials, expenses, income, insurance claims, collections and much more.  People say, how can you be so experienced, because we learned vast experiences with these large stormer companies. 

1st: Our Customers are Number one.  We are not a fly by night company we live here, we may see you in the stores, at the ball games, or in the movie theater.  You are important to us because we are neighbors in a very small world. 

2nd: Honesty, Truth and Integrity.  These are simple values and we realized that truth is not a complication its a gift. Honesty and Truth are Stable and they never change, they are an important part of our history as partners in our common roof projects.  Without honesty and truth we have nothing...

3rd: Transparency. Work with a roof replacement is pretty straight forward, however throw in a hail or storm damage claim and things get messy really fast.  Its important that everyone is on the same page and surprises are from the carrier and not the roofer or the homeowner.
